About Me

I am the proud mother of 6 children. 5 of our children have autism. We do not feel our world has ended, but just begun. We do not chelate, intervene biochemically, give shots of any kind, practice ABA, etc. We treat them as we treat any humanbeing. We treat them with kindness and respect and expect the same from them. They are exceptional children.

DISHPAN HANDS....

I really am having a hard time writing this post, but I am at my wits end about my dishwasher. We were truly blessed 1 1/2 years ago with our new home....it was to make our life easier and more efficient. I do not want anyone to feel sorry for me, we really did get an amazing gift. I jus need to vent for a brief moment.

When we received our new home, I was thrilled to see a brand new kitchen filled with gorgeous stainless steel appliances. All of them read Kenmore...except the friggin dishwasher. Lo and behold...FRIGIDAIRE....
You see, I hate Frigidaire. We had a refrigerator that had to be repaired 6 times in one year. Finally, they got the repair right. But, I had to go without a refrigerator for over 6 months during that year.

I decided to take the higher ground and give Frigidaire the benefit of the doubt and maybe, just maybe, their dishwashers were better built than the refrigerators.

NO SUCH LUCK.

The dishwasher given to us is a model PLD4375RFC...it is a piece of JUNK.

It has not worked for more than 2 months before it overheats or the control panel

starts flashing ER and "uo"....No more dishwasher.

It has been repaired FIVE times...count them FIVE times. I have not had the

luxury of a dishwasher for a total of 6 months.

This dishwasher sells for over $550.00 at most retail stores. I would not waste

any money on this appliance.

Frigidaire has answered my question when I asked them, "Are you telling me that

your appliances are built to last just 1 year..."

Yes, the person replied, that is why you should have purchased an extended warranty.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

This company believes it is okay to fork out $500.00 a year for something that should

last at least 10 years.

I will be going out soon to purchase a new dishwasher...you can believe me when I say

it will not be a FRIGIDAIRE.

Now, I am off to lotion my very dry, brittle, DISHPAN HANDS.

The diswasher in my dad's apartment also quit working. Except it's a Kenmore...

I am happy with my Midea, but I don't know how it would cope with regular work. I use it mainly when we have guests.

I can relate to the dishpan hands--at one point our family was without a dishwasher for ten years because we could not afford to buy a new one. Needless to say, we love our dishwasher now. Sometimes I think I would have made a horrible pioneer--no dishwasher! Ha, ha.

That stinks about the dishwasher! We've always done Kitchen Aid. Love them. But my stove? A frigidaire. Apparently, they are good at making stoves. I have had it for three years with no problems. Except that somehow it gets dirty.

Yikes! The dishwasher that came with my home is a whirlpool and it looks 6 years old and is still kicking (TG - We purchased an older home). I hope you get the dishwasher soon.

Best wishes,

Amy

Electrolux/Frigidaire is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service lacks in so many areas.
Needless to say...I am still washing my dishes by hand and am looking for a dishwasher that actually works.
Chris Polk sent my complaint on to another person who was less than compliant.
If you are still using your dishwasher, I would suggest you stop. Mine caught on fire....

I am going through a similar issue with a Frigidaire fridge. 4 repairs in 10 months, now with just 1 month left on my warranty (I also didn't buy an extended warranty. I've never had a fridge go bad before). No response for Chris Polk or the other person in that office. Refusal from Frigidaire and Lowes to replace the item or extend the warranty. Furious. I'll never buy Frigidaire again.

Did Chris ever help you out? I wrote him an email yesterday, no response yet. I am having major issues with our $1849 refrigerator that is only 4 years old.
