Hewlett Packard, Micron, Zilog, and many other engineering firms are the major employers for our region. Even before my oldest was diagnosed with Asperger's the community joke was that the Boise Valley is a breeding ground for Autism- simply because of the high percentage of engineers within our population. Possibly working in show business limits contact with adults on the spectrum? Coming from a family filled with engineers and economists I've concluded that not only are the ASDs in our family genetic- we've actually selected for those traits for several generations now! There's nothing more attractive to me than a man who is very intelligent, highly analytical, honest to the core, straight talking, goal oriented, and focused on completing whatever task he starts! And so- I have also selected a mate who likely intensifies the autistic traits I already possessed. Two of our three children are likely on the spectrum. It makes me laugh because they look normal to me, it's the neurotypical children that seem strange. Life is what we make of it. Normal always seemed boring to me!Janethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17615575846268382329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32355297.post-32772616506441491962008-11-07T13:51:00.000-06:002008-11-07T13:51:00.000-06:00I agree with jen.
